The new ABC drama
Six Degrees has already gone through a transformation in production staff, before the first episode has even aired. Carol Flint, veteran of
ER and
The West Wing, has left the show, citing the long commute between Los Angeles and New York as one reason. In addition to Flint's departure, co-executive producer and director Jace Alexander has also left the show in recent weeks.
Ken Biller has joined the new series as executive producer and showrunner. The question is whether the addition of Biller, whose credits include
Smallville, "Dark Angel", and "Star Trek: Voyager", will be enough to get
Six Degrees off the ground.
In addition to the new staffing changes, this summer ABC also brought in Grey's Anatomy executive producer Peter Horton as a consultant on the show, expressing "concern" over some of the early scripts.
Six Degrees premieres September 21 on ABC.
