Tom Ward was born 11 January 1971 in Swansea, Wales in the United Kingdom. He is married to journalist Emily Hohler with whom he has three children. Their eldest son, Jack, was born in 2002, followed by their only daughter, Tabitha in 2003. Their youngest, also a boy, came in 2006. In his spare time, Ward likes to sing, dance, play the saxophone and ride horses. He is also adept at fencing and has competed for Great Britain in the past. Ward is a veteran of period dramas including Vanity Fair, Moll Flanders, Anna Karenina and Pride and Prejudice. His other television credits include appearances in Love in a Cold Climate, Midsomer Murders, The Lost World and as the title character in The Infinite World of H.G. Wells. He joined the cast of the forensic drama Silent Witness in 2002. On the big screen, Ward has been in The Heart of Me, Quills and Plunkett and Macleane while onstage, he has appeared in a production of The Merchant of Venice.

Dr. Harry Cunningham is portrayed by Tom Ward on BBC’s Silent Witness. He is part of a triumvirate of forensic pathologists who investigate gruesome murders to find out the truth behind what happened.
