Sigourney Weaver is coming to a TV near you this summer. The Alien and Avatar star was joined the cast of the six-episode new USA drama Political Animals from Greg Berlanti (Jack and Bobby).

Not all titles featured on BuddyTV are available through Amazon Prime.

Weaver, who played the First Lady opposite Kevin Kline in the movie Dave, will play Elaine Barrish, a former First Lady who is now divorced. She has recently taken the job of Secretary of State after losing the presidential race. But, of course, this is totally fictional, though it sounds eerily like Hillary Clinton, minus the divorce.

Weaver is joined by Lone Star's James Wolk who will play her son and chief of staff, Doug and Brittany Ishibashi (who played Maggie, one of the Ghostfacers from the CW's Supernatural) as his fiancée. Other roles yet to be cast include the ex-husband and former president, who is still in love with Weaver's character, as well as Doug's twin brother who is a struggling addict, and a Washington journalist trying to destroy Barrish.

This is Weaver's first regular primetime TV series role. Weaver very rarely does television, and the last time she did a series was in 2008 when she played a therapist who may have been God on Eli Stone, which was also created by Berlanti.

Political Animals will air this summer on USA for a limited run of six episodes.
