In an effort to feature a thought-provoking comedy-drama, Lifetime has initially picked up 13 episodes of the new series entitled Side Order of Life.

Side Order of Life, a pilot directed by James Frawley, follows a young magazine photographer who appears to have the perfect life, a steady job, solid friends, and a dreamy fiancé. However, when she receives several signs and “wake-up calls” from the universe, she begins to re-evaluate her life and her approaching wedding while struggling to refocus her priorities.

Leading the cast is actress Marisa Coughlan as Jenny McIntyre, the young magazine photographer with a seemingly perfect life. Coughlan has starred in films like Teaching Mrs. Tingle, Pumpkin, Super Troopers and Freddy Got Fingered. She has also appeared on several episodes of Boston Legal.

Playing Jenny McIntyre’s dreamy fiancé Ian is actor Jason Priestley. He is best known for his role as Brandon Walsh on Beverly Hills 90210. His other acting credits include The Lady in Question is Charles Busch, Above and Beyond, Hot Tamale, Going the Distance and Sleep Murder just to name a few.

Joining the two lead characters are Vivy Porter and Rick Purdy, who are played by Diana-Maria Riva and Christopher Gartin respectively. Riva, who plays the role of Jenny McIntyre’s best friend, is credited for her role on Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip, while Gartin is known for his appearance on the hit medical drama House.

Produced by The Jinks/Cohen Company and Warner Horizon Television with Bruce Cohen, Dan Jinks and Margaret Nagle, Side Order of Life is scheduled to premiere on Sunday, July 15, 2007 at 8 p.m. ET/PT on Lifetime.
