Sarah Jessica Parker caught the attention of millions of viewers as the sex-crazed columnist Carrie Bradshaw on
Sex and the City. She immediately became an icon due to her unique fashion sense, in which she frequently mixes vintage finds with haute couture. As the lead character and narrator of each episode, she brought light on different aspects of relationships while discussing sexual desires, fantasies and opinions with her three best friends, who represented a cross-section of modern-day American women in the context of being single. Of course, she also had a string of relationships with men like Mr. Big, Aidan Shaw, and Aleksandr Petrovsky to name a few, which was part of her endless search for true love.

After six years, an Emmy and four Golden Globe Awards, Parker vowed that she would never do a television show again. Consequently, she became more visible on the silver screen. She appeared in the film
Stranger with Candy, which was a prequel to the television series of the same name, and starred in
The Family Stone, which earned her a Golden Globe nomination for portraying the character Meredith Morton. Following this, she worked in the romantic comedy
Failure to Launch, alongside Matthew McConaughey, and in the video
Sesame Beginnings: Moving Together. She also released her own fragrance called “Lovely.”
Apart from acting, Parker is busy as a producer of the independent film
Spinning Into Butter, which is based on the play of Rebecca Gilman and is set for release in 2007. She also stars in the movie
Smart People, a comedy drama about the life of a widowed professor as he finds new love and encounters his adopted brother. Parker stars as Janet, alongside other cast members, which include Dennis Quaid, Ellen Page, Thomas Haden Church and Ashton Holmes. In addition, she has two projects slated for 2008, which is currently in production. The first is
A Family Affair, a comedy in which Parker would play an engaged real estate agent who has a one-night stand with an older man only to discover that he is her future father-in-law. And last but not the least, she stars in
Slammer, a prison-themed musical comedy where she will portray the role of Maggie Ray. Next month, Parker will be launching her own fashion line called
Bitten, in partnership with the clothing chain Steve & Barry’s. The said fashion line will showcase various clothing items and accessories under $20 and will be introduced to the market on June 7, 2007.
