David Eigenberg became famous for portraying Steve Brady on the HBO hit series
Sex and the City. He was initially a bartender who had a unique on-again, off-again relationship with Miranda Hobbes (
Cynthia Nixon). Throughout the series, he endured a fair amount of emotional tumult, rooted from his income, lifestyle and status, which differed from Miranda's. In the end, however, a happy closure was found for Steve and Miranda, who decided to raise their child together and eventually tied the knot in an intimate wedding ceremony. At present, the 43-year-old actor is currently in New York shooting a new movie, which is slated for release in 2008.
The former
Sex and the City actor will be joining Tamara Tunie, who plays Dr. Melinda Warner on
Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, in her directorial debut
See You in September. Set in present-day Manhattan, the movie centers on a woman afraid of commitment who freaks out when her therapist takes a vacation for an entire month. She seeks the help of her friend to come up with a group session for other patients similarly ditched by their therapists going on vacation. Estella Warren and Liza Lapira also star in the upcoming film.
Sex and the City positively propelled David Eigenberg's acting career, as he was able to land an array of projects, ranging from voiceover work to television appearances to movie roles. After providing the voice of Nermal in
Garfield: The Movie, he graced television series like
The 4400, CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, Without A Trace and
Ghost Whisperer, and starred in yet another provocative sexy drama in
The Trouble with Romance.
