Sex and the City

After many rumors, delays and denials, the much-awaited Sex and the City movie is now back on course.

The buzz of a Sex and the City movie, which actually circulated since the hit HBO series ended in 2004, has surfaced some hold-ups regarding some diva drama between the infamous foursome, Sarah Jessica Parker, Kristin Davis, Kim Cattrall and Cynthia Nixon.

Davis has been interviewed by Access Hollywood back in July of 2004 regarding the stalling of the movie. Although Davis has not disclosed an explicit answer, she has subtly implied that Cattrall did not want to the do the film.

But according to Mario Cantone, who portrayed Anthony Marentino, best friend of Davis’ character, director and executive producer Michael King is currently preparing a script for the film, and that shooting could begin later this year in New York.

"There's nothing definitive yet," Cantone has told reporters. "I know the script is being written and I know it will be brilliant because Michael Patrick King is writing it. I know that I'm in it. I have a nice part in it…I'm told. If it happens, we should film it in the early fall I think, but I hope it stays on course because I would love to do it."

"I think there's an audience for it," Cantone has said on The View. There are girls who come up to me in the street in tears and say 'When's the Sex and the City movie happening?' If you look at The Devil Wears Prada, it was such a big success. This would do even better. Sex and the City has the audience and I think it's a good time to do it now because enough time has passed since the TV series ended."
