Fans will be pleased to know that the highly anticipated Sex and the City movie is currently shooting in New York. Production, which started last Wednesday, has finally brought together lead stars Sarah Jessica Parker (Carrie Bradshaw), Kim Cattrall (Samantha Jones), Kristin Davis (Charlotte York) and Cynthia Nixon (Miranda Hobbes) after the controversial fall out of some of its cast members, which reportedly delayed the progress of big screen version.

It has been three years since the television series, which followed the love lives of four professional women in New York, wrapped up its 6-year run in 2004.  The movie now serves as a follow-up on the wildly successful romantic comedy series, which is based on the novel of Candace Bushnell.

The Sex and the City
film will reportedly see Carrie and boyfriend Big go house hunting together after they agree to take the next big step in their frequently tumultuous relationship.  Meanwhile, many sources have hinted that Charlotte will be expecting a baby despite her infertile condition which was previously revealed on the series.

The Sex and the City movie will also feature the some of the show's distinguished men who will serve as love interests of the four lead stars.  These include Chris Noth, who will be reprising his role as Mr. Big, as well as David Eigenberg (Steve Brady), Evan Handler (Harry Goldenblatt) and Jason Lewis (Smith Jerrod).

Moreover, the movie will also include Jennifer Hudson, a former contestant on American Idol and Academy Award and Oscar Award-winning actress best known for her role on Dreamgirls.  She is set to play Carrie's assistant.

The Sex and the City movie is written and directed by the show's longtime executive producer, Michael Patrick King, and is expected to hit the theaters in May 2008.
