Kim Cattrall, who was reportedly the reason why the shooting of the much awaited
Sex and the City movie was delayed, wants to do a sequel to the film that revolves around the lives of four female friends living in New York City, four years after the time frame of the finale of the HBO series.
"Last night, I got about three hours of sleep, but it's also euphoria because it's been so well received," Cattrall, who plays sexually confident Samantha, told ExtraTV.com. "The audience is so happy to see the girls back. It was a blast to make and I hope we get to come back and make another."

The world premiere of
Sex and the City: The Movie took place at Leicester Square, London on May 12 and is set to be released today in the United Kingdom and on May 30 in the United States.
In the movie, Cattrall’s character has a new life in Los Angles with Smith (Jason Lewis) and is struggling with a monogamous relationship with his career as a celebrity. As for the rest of the girls, Carrie (
Sarah Jessica Parker) deals with wedding problems with John, also known as Mr. Big (Chris Noth), Charlotte (
Kristin Davis) discovers that she is finally pregnant, while Miranda (
Cynthia Nixon) and Steve (David Eigenberg) deal with infidelity. The film also features some flashbacks of memorable episodes from the TV series.
Despite Cattrall holding up the
Sex and the City's production the first time around, Parker recently told
New York magazine she holds no grudges against her co-star.
"If I had thought it was any of my business at the time, what I would have said is, 'Isn't it okay for Kim to think the money wasn't right?'" Parker said. “Perhaps [Kim] was some kind of emotional psychic, because this way we made a better movie.”
