Neo-traditional country music singer-songwriter and record producer Clint Patrick Black was born on February 4, 1962 in Long Branch, New Jersey but grew up in Katy, Texas. He discovered his love for music at the early age of 13 and learned to play the harmonica, acoustic guitar and bass guitar all by himself. He attended Stratford High School but left the academics field to join his brother's band during his teenage years. They played in local clubs around Houston. At the same time, Clint took an interest in songwriting.
Clint Black came up with his first album Killin' Time in 1989. He has since then released nine studio albums, nine compilation albums and two Christmas albums. His first singles “A Better Man,” ”Killing Time,” “Nobody's Home” and “Walkin'Away” were all #1 at the U.S Billboard Hot Country Singles & Tracks charts. Currently, around 50 singles of his have been listed on the U.S. Billboard Country Charts. A total of 13 songs were in the number one spot.
Clint's songs were also included in the soundtracks of
The Prince of Egypt, Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer: The Movie, The Thing Called Love and
Nowhere to Run.
In 2003, he started Equity Music Group, his own recording label which has produced albums for artists like Mark Wills, Kevin Fowler, Carolyn Dawn Johnson and Carolina Rain.
Clint played the roles Marley on
Hot Properties, Randy Ritcher on
Hope & Faith, Dr. Warren on
Going Home and Chad on
King of the Hill. On the big screen, he was part of films
Anger Management and
Maverick.
He is married to wife Lisa Hartman and has a daughter named Lily Pearl. His other daughter from a previous relationship is Chelsea Bain.
Clint Black is a contestant on CBS' reality TV series
Secret Talents of the Stars, a show that pits celebrities against each other as they showcase their hidden abilities. Clint's hidden talent is doing stand-up comedy.
