is adding a trio of new dramas to its solid returning line-up this
fall, and they all seem to fit the network's model very nicely while also being very timely. There's
one about Navy SEALs, one about a SWAT team and one bout a crime-solving
CBS Fall 2017 Schedule>>>Watch the Trailers for the New CBS Fall Comedies>>>SEAL Team
, which will air Wednesdays at 9/8c, stars David Boreanaz as the leader of an elite team of Navy SEALs who execute dangerous missions. The drama also stars Bates Motel's Max Thieriot. The trailer offers plenty of intense action, but also a surprising amount of heart and personal stories.
, which will air Thursdays at 10/9c, stars Criminal Minds alum Shemar Moore as the new commander of an elite SWAT team in Los Angeles. Surprisingly, the show dives headfirst into the tense race relations between the African-American community and the police, making it far more topical than just another generic crime show. And there's an obvious theme in the new CBS dramas as both the trailers for this show and SEAL Team
feature songs about being heroes.
Finally there's Wisdom of the Crowd
, which will air Sundays at 8/7c. Starring Jeremy Piven, this drama centers on a tech innovator who invents a crowd-sourcing app to solve crimes, inspired by the drive to catch his daughter's killer. The show seems to follow the recent trend of tech genius using their resources to solve a personal problem and help others, similar to CBS' Pure Genius
and FOX's APB
from this past season, both of which failed. The trailer suffers a it from nonstop exposition and the ending seems to be advocating a mob mentality and vigilantism, which seems like a dangerous thing to promote.
