After several weeks of hour-long episodes of
The Office,
Scrubs finally returns to the air for its seventh and final season on Thursday, October 25 at 9:30pm following
The Office, closing out NBC's Thursday night comedy lineup. The abbreviated final season will last just 18 episodes.
When viewers last left
Scrubs, J.D. (Zach Braff) and Elliot (Sarah Chalke) were in the on-call room at Sacred Heart Hospital, about to kiss after discussing their recent commitment troubles. J.D. is having difficulty dealing with his pregnant girlfriend Kim while Elliot is doubting her impending marriage to former intern Keith Dudemeister (the last name was initially intended as a one-time joke before the
Scrubs team got stuck with it when they decided to make Keith a more integral character).
Scrubs fans will have to wait until late October to find out what J.D. and Elliot will do, and how many episodes it will take before Dr. Cox (John C. McGinley) gives a long-winded rant about how much he hates Hugh Jackman.
