Neil Flynn

Neil Flynn Biography:

Being a television star hasn’t always been on Neil Flynn’s resume. Although he started acting at Waukegan East High School, where he even earned an award for “Humorous Duet Acting” with his partner Mike Shklair, moving back to his hometown in Chicago didn’t exactly do wonders for his career (not right away, anyway). Flynn had several minor roles in many different and well-known television series such as Seinfeld, That 70’s Show and Smallville but in 2001 he finally landed a role that would put him on the map. He was cast as the janitor in the NBC comedy series Scrubs, and even though creator Bill Lawrence originally planned for the character to appear only in the pilot, he felt compelled to keep the character after watching the episode, which proved greatly fortunate for Flynn.

The Janitor, potrayed by Neil Flynn on the NBC hit series Scrubs, is sarcastic, intriguing and a little bit crazy. He hounds intern J.D. everywhere he goes and takes every chance to make the intern’s life at the hospital just a little bit more miserable. He does not communicate well with other people and has continued to give false personal information perhaps to make him seem more accomplished. Surprisingly, the Janitor can speak four languages, and this particular skill he is not faking, which makes him even more of an entertaining enigma.
