Holly Hunter is an award-winning American actress, born on March 20, 1958 in Conyers, Georgia. After earning a drama degree from the Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, she moved to New York City to pursue her acting career. She later moved again to Los Angeles and shared a house with various people, including future top filmmakers Sam Raimi and the Coen Brothers. Holly Hunter’s first starring role in a movie was in the 1987 comedy Raising Arizona, and she would go on to win both the Academy Award and the Golden Globe for Best Actress for her performance in the film The Piano.

 

Grace Hanadarko is portrayed by Holly Hunter in TNT’s new crime drama series Saving Grace. Despite being a top Oklahoma City police detective, Grace turns to self-destructive habits after experiencing both personal and professional tragedies in her life. She sleeps around constantly with the wrong men and becomes an alcoholic, though she still maintains a soft side for her numerous nephews and nieces. After she drives drunk and accidentally hits someone on the road, Grace’s fast and unrelenting lifestyle is unexpectedly confronted by an unusual angel named Earl, who warns her that she’s in serious trouble. He offers to help her get back on the right path, though it won’t be easy.
