The siblings of Chris Farley,
Saturday Night Live cast member who was also credited for films like
Beverly Hills Ninja, Airheads, Wayne's World and
Billy Madison, have decided to come up with a project that will feature many of the late comedian's friends and colleagues from
Saturday Night Live.
Hollywood and Wine, the title of the new satire project, revolves around a Hollywood chef and an aspiring actress who get caught in a get-rich quick scheme that results in mistaken identify and a run-in with the mob. The comedy is collaborated by Kevin Farley, younger brother John Farley and his wife, Jennifer Farley with Matt Berman serving as writer and co-director.
According to
The Hollywood Reporter,
Hollywood and Wine marks the first of a six-picture deal between Smithfield Street Prods. & Studios and Proud Mary Entertainment, which which hope to shoot movies predominantly in what they call "Hollywood North East." This endeavor will reportedly take advantage of Pennsylvania's 25 percent film tax incentive.
Chris Kattan, David Spade, Norm MacDonald, Horatio Sanz and Chris Parnell are among the
Saturday Night Live cast members who will be participating in the comedy. Also included are Chazz Palminteri, Vivica Fox, Pamela Anderson, Jeremy London, Nicky Whelan and, of course, the two Farley brothers.
Kevin Farley's credits include a variety of TV and film projects, including the upcoming film
The Gold and the Beautiful, which also stars brother John. He has also landed roles in
The Waterboy and
Dirty Work and has appeared on the HBO series Curb Your Enthusiasm as an exterminator in the episode “The Rat Dog.”
John Farley, on the other hand, has worked in
The Benchwarmers and
Joe Dirt, in which he played a policeman.
Hollywood and Wine is produced by Free Fall Films and Trivision Picture with Aloe, Brian Hartman, Henry Boger and Alexander Tabrizi, Mike Dolan, Ben Barton and Eric Brown serving as executive producers.
