snlABC is still filling up roles for its latest fall comedy pilot, Bad Mother's Handbook.  So far, it has already recruited Alicia Silverstone, best known for her Valley girl-type of role in the movie Clueless, Megan Mullally, who catapulted to stardom for playing Karen Walker on Will & Grace, and Alia Shawkat, who is credited for her role as Maeby Funke on Arrested Development.  Now, the show has signed up yet anther cast member and he comes in the form of Saturday Night Live alum Horatio Sanz.

Your Take

Bad Mother's Handbook revolves around three generations of grandmother, mother and daughter. Grandma Nan, 48, had daughter Karen when she was 16, while Karen, 32, gave birth to daughter Charlotte at the age of 16.  While there's an undeniable pattern of teenage pregnancies in this family, Nan and Karen can't really lecture 16-year-old Charlotte on not starting a family as a teenager because that's what they obviously did.  The only consolation is that they all live together in one happy, hectic household, which means they can keep an eye on one another.

According to TV Guide, Sanz is slated to play Matt, Karen's boyfriend and the father of Charlotte.  Not much has been revealed about his character, although it has been said that he'll be offering some advice to Charlotte and that he likes to celebrate by doing doughnuts in the parking lot.

Noted as the first Latino cast member on Saturday Night Live, Sanz first appeared on the variety sketch comedy in 1998.  He was known for his impersonations of Alfred Hitchcock, Elton John, Ozzy Osbourne, Rosie O'Donnell and Saddam Hussein, just to name a few.  At the beginning of the 31st season of Saturday Night Live, he served as the temporary replacement for Tina Fey as Amy Poehler's Weekend Update co-anchor while Fey was on maternity leave until she resumed her duties on October 22, 2005.  The following year, the show decided to drop Sanz, along with Finesse Mitchell and Chris Parnell.
