After a so far sterling (and very politically relevant) season, Saturday Night Live is hell-bent on taking advantage of its momentum with a packed line-up this October.  SNL's first three episodes saw increased interest on the November elections, particularly on Tina Fey's great impression of the GOP vice-presidential bet Sarah Palin.  Her interview with Katie Couric, who was also masterly done by Amy Poehler, has made the rounds on blogs and video-streaming sites.

Throughout Saturday Night Live's three episodes in October, the long-running sketch show is going to feature three Hollywood regulars, starting with The Princess Diaries and Devil Wears Prada star Anne Hathaway on tonight's show.  The next episodes will feature Josh Brolin and Jon Hamm of recent Emmy winner Mad Men.  They will be joined by musical guests The Killers, Adele, and Coldplay respectively.

Brolin, 40, will play George W. Bush in a heavily anticipated biopic called W by Oscar-winning director Oliver Stone.  He was also on the Oscar-winning feature No Country For Old Men and American Gangster.  On the other hand, 37-year-old Hamm was fresh out of winning the 2008 Golden Globe Award for Best Performance by an Actor in a Television – Drama for his role as a 1960s advertising executive on Mad Men.  He will also be in an upcoming sci-fi remake The Day The Earth Stood Still alongside Keanu Reeves and Jennifer Connolly.  It will be the hosting debut of Hathaway, 25, who also took part in Brokeback Mountain and opposite Steve Carell in the summer comedy hit Get Smart.

Meanwhile, The Killers is on their third SNL appearance, promoting their upcoming record “Day and Age” going on sale November 25.  Their prior 2004 and 2006 releases both went Platinum and were nominated for Grammies.

The three Saturday episodes will go hand-in-hand with three live primetime Update specials.
