While NBC has yet to officially confirm the news, Betty White has already confirmed Sunday to
People.com at Elton John's annual Oscars party that she will be making an appearance on
Saturday Night Live this season. And according to
Zap2it.com's source, the 88-year-old actress is likely to do the show with former
SNL cast member Molly Shannon some time in May.
White's casting on
Saturday Night Live shouldn't come as a surprise to her fans, though. When one fan started to kick off a petition on Facebook called "Betty White to Host
SNL," it prompted about half a million people to sign up to support the former
Golden Girls star. And now fans finally got what they wished for.
Betty White, who allegedly signed with
Saturday Night Live several weeks ago, has recently garnered attention for her Snicker's commercial during the Super Bowl, for being called "one of the sexiest women in America" on
The View by heartthrob Robert Pattinson, and for "flipping the bird" at Ryan Reynolds in a Funnyordie.com video.
