Last season on Sanctuary, the team deal with the aftermath of Big Bertha's actions and Will's near-fatal injury. It was far from over though: upon recovering Will finds his way to a map of Hollow Earth, and their former colleague Adam, who poisons Magnus in an effort to see the map. Adam was killed, but not exactly: he gets hold of a time machine just as abnormals from Hollow Earth enter the surface, and the team have to chase him all over ... all over again.
What to Expect in Sanctuary Season 4
Sum up Sanctuary season 4 in one word, and you'll have this: trouble.
You see, the team aren't just going to deal with the abnormals: Sanctuary season 4 sees pretty much everybody else going after them. You have world governments breathing down their necks, and you've got new villains making trouble, too. What did you expect when Magnus asked the UN for their help? And I haven't mentioned either Adam (who's very much alive) or Thelo (whose status on the show is still unknown, although I'm pretty sure the WWE's Edge will be back this season)...
However, it looks like Sanctuary season 4 isn't just all about potential threats of national security: the gang will still find time to take a break. One episode this season will be a musical episode, the cast announced during their Comic-Con panel, and while it sounds weird at first, it's safe to say it's all an abnormal's fault.
More treats to watch out for: both Amanda Tapping and Robin Dunn will direct an episode of Sanctuary season 4. By the way, the new season will be shorter than the last one -- 13 eps instead of 20 -- but I'm sure it will still be as good as the last one.
Sanctuary returns for a fourth season on October 7 from 10pm on Syfy.
