Love this show, loved last night's episode. Christina Applegate and Jean Smart are brilliant comediennes.
"There's going to be some romance happening - Sam will have to face a couple of decisions in that department, and maybe some changes in employment,” Applegate, who stars as Samantha, told the Daily News.
In last night's offering, Sam was forced to move back in with her ex-boyfriend Todd, played by Watson, after learning that she stood a good chance of being evicted for subletting it to him. The catch was, Todd now shared the place with his new ladylove Chloe, portrayed by guest star Kiele Sanchez formerly of
Lost. Despite the new woman in Todd's life, actor Barry Watson told E! that the door isn't entirely closed to a possible reunion between Sam and Todd.
“More so now that Sam is good, instead of the [awful person she was pre-amnesia] who he'd probably been trying to break up with for quite some time,” Watson said.
The
Samantha Who? co-star is also glad they are back working on the series: “I feel like we were just starting to get some momentum going when everything had to stop, but things run so smoothly on this show. Everyone's having a great time, except for Jean [Smart]. She and I just don't get along. They have to separate us during table reads," he added in jest.
Seriously though, Watson is eager to have some screen time with the talented Smart as well as other fixtures on the series.
“I think there is an effort to get Todd in some scenes with Jean and Kevin [Dunn] later this season, and hopefully I'll get to spend time with the doorman too, since he does stand right outside my building.”
Watson may soon see the fulfillment of his wish, if what his leading lady says about the show opens new possibilities in terms of character development and interaction.
"The story lines are endless, contrary to what the critics said early on in terms of how long we could go with [the amnesia] idea," Applegate told the Daily News. "The show isn't even about that anymore. It's just a story about a girl finding who she is and learning to fix her mistakes."
