Run's House: Girl Scouts Look Up to Rev. Run's Daughters

Nowadays, most headline stories about teen celebrities are usually negative controversies that involve drunk driving, rehab and out of control behavior, just to name a few. Nevertheless, there are still a few remaining youngsters that can actually be considered as role models. According to public relations firm Mosnar Communications, Inc.,
Rev. Run's daughters,
Angela Simmons and
Vanessa Simmons, who both stars on MTV's
Run's House, are likely to point young girls in the right direction. Even the Girl Scouts agree as the Simmons sisters are now the designated role models for the Girl Scouts organization.
Although the Simmons sisters became famous for being the nieces of hip-hop mogul Russell Simmons and daughters of his brother Rev. Run, they have certainly become celebrities in their own rights. Both have a solid following of fans and have successfully sold over $15 million dollars last year of their brand Pastry sneakers, which is now being expanded to include handbags, jewelry and other products.
"Unfortunately we do not hear enough in the media about positive actions of young role models like Angela and Vanessa Simmons," Mosnar Communications cofounder CR Cataunya Ransom said.
As reported previously, the
Run's House sisters hosted Girl Scouts Day in April at Six Flags Great Adventure in Jackson, New Jersey where Girl Scouts from all over the country got their chance to meet, greet and mingle with the teen celebrities.
"I'm thrilled to be working with the Girl Scouts,” Vanessa said at the time. “Growing up I didn't have the opportunity to become a Girl Scout, so being involved now as a role model/mentor means so much to me."
"In life, you get what you give," Angela added. "Volunteering is the best way to give. I love to give and I am so happy that I can give back to the community."
