Maria Alejandra Delfino was born February 20, 1981 in Caracas, Venezuela but immigrated to the United States with her family when she was three. They settled in Florida where she became interested in the arts despite excelling in academics. By the time she was 11, Delfino became part of an all-girl singing quartet called China Doll, with her best friend, Samantha Gibb, daughter of Bee Gees legend, Maurice Gibb. After some success as a singer, Delfino decided to take a stab at acting. Her parents gave her six months to try her luck and test the waters, after which, if proven unsuccessful, she had to resume her studies. Within months, she got herself an agent and was subsequently cast as Tony Danza’s daughter on The Tony Danza Show.
Maria DeLuca, played by Majandra Delfino on Roswell, is Liz Parker’s stylish, spunky, beautiful and often sarcastic best friend. She also has an undeniably strong attraction with the brooding and grumpy, Michael Guerin.
