Rock of Love bachelor/searcher, Bret Michaels is keeping himself busy with activities in between the recently concluded first edition of his reality dating show and the second, set to commence sometime next year. He's done noteworthy performances for servicemen overseas and has a New Year's Eve gig to emcee.
Poison's frontman has been left on the prowl again for a new fair maiden, following the abrupt end of his romance with
Rock of Love season 1 winner,
Jes Rickleff.
Before Bret Michaels entertains us all with a brand-spanking new second serving of his
Rock of Love reality show, he'll help ring in 2008 by hosting a New Year's Eve party at Myth in Maplewood, Minnesota. Tickets to the event which will include all-night complimentary drink service, are now available at Ticketmaster. The affair is strictly for those 21 years and above and will feature Firehouse for its opening act.
Just recently, Michaels did his bit for American service men and women stationed in Iraq. The
Rock of Love star performed a free concert for the troops of 10th Mountain. The glam rocker/reality show personality spent some time with the soldiers to sign autographs and visit with them at Camp Striker. As has been his tradition, Michaels dedicated the tune, “Something to Believe In” to the troops, something that's become a staple during his concerts. The servicemen found the free show to be a nice send-off prior to their imminent return to Fort Drum.
Meanwhile, fellow rocker Tommy Lee, who has a couple of reality shows under his own belt, weighed in last month on rumors that he was being considered as the central figure in the second installment of
Rock of Love.
"Just to stop the rumors... I AM NOT nor would I ever do a stupid show like the
Rock of Love!!" Motley Crue's former drummer emphatically stated.
Well, he may have indirectly dissed Bret Michaels by calling the show stupid, but
Rock of Love's resident lothario had already had his own say to one-up Lee. When he reacted to Lee's recent altercation with Kid Rock at the latest MTV Video Music Awards, Michaels quipped: “All I know is I was the first rocker to get Pam [Anderson]."
