'Rock of Love' Costumes Were a Popular Halloween Choice This Year
Obviously, no network assumes a show will be a flop when they put it on the air…but did anyone at VH1 have any idea how successful Rock of Love would become? The show had unexpectedly impressive ratings, and if this Halloween was any indication, it is certainly a pop culture phenomenon right now.

Rock of Love costumes turned out to be more popular than you might have expected, and at least one celebrity hopped onto the Bret Michael's bandwagon. Do you recognize the celeb to the left of Kathy Griffin there?

It's boy bander Lance Bass rocking the Bret Michaels wig/bandana combo.

Rock of Love seemed to be a theme picked by many couples looking to coordinate their costumes. But was it going to be Bret and Jes or Bret and Heather?  Both sets were spotted. Was the deciding factor whether or not you identified more with the younger, level-headed Jes or the heart-on-her-sleeve emotional vulnerability of Heather? Or did it really boil down to deciding between teased hair and pink hair?

For men, the costume must have been appealing from a comfort and simplicity perspective. Other than the potentially stuffy feeling of wearing a wig and the eye-poking hazard of applying guyliner, jeans and a tee-shirt aren't a bad thing to spend your Halloween in.

There were also at least two reports of Conner costumes, although none that I could find so far of Rodeo or any of the other Rock of Love notable women.

Halloween is over now, but in case you liked dressing up as Jes – or if you've just been wanting to rock the hot pink hair since Gwen Stefani worked it nearly over seven years ago – Jes offers up step by step instructions on her MySpace blog on how to achieve her magenta locks, although she warns it's a high maintenance look that can fade in as little as three weeks.

Did you see or dress as a Rock of Love character for Halloween? Which one? Leave us your reports in the comments!
