Girls of 'Rock of Love: Charm School' Speak Up
Rock of Love: Charm School has already kicked off the season with an incomparable cattiness that only reality TV girls can muster.  Things wouldn't turn out that way if the contestants hadn't already gotten to know each other beforehand.  This is why they were all pooled together in a hotel prior to the show's premiere.  The girls have to be ready for their task, and VH1 interviewed the 10 ladies regarding their stints.  Since the rivalry already begun on television, we get to see if the contenders lived up to their initial plan.

The enrolled students had a lot to say.  First up was Megan from Rock of Love 2, who was asked what she would do if she won the money.  She referred to her dog, Lily, who has more plans than her.  “Lily has been bothering me for what every girl wants: a little boy toy to play with in her spare time.  Nothing that's going to tie her down, but just something for when she's bored.  She's actually been very specific: she wants a bad little dog that barks a lot, growls and looks really mean, but is actually very nice around her.  Like a little gangster dog. For myself, I don't know. Just the usual maintenance. It tends to be expensive.”

Rock of Love's Brandi C. meanwhile, said that her strategy is “[j]ust to go.  I realize there are things I need to change about myself, but I don't think they're big deals.  Fine-tuning is the most I need.  As long as I'm making progress and showing them I'm really trying, I think I've got this.  I'm probably one of the best people that could make a change, no one else.”

Lacey's strategy is also something to take note of.  It's going to increase the tension in the show for sure. “Basically, I'm gonna do everything I can to please Sharon, and everything I can to displease the other girls.”

On the other hand, Heather doesn't care about the other contestants at all.  She says that this is exactly what she wants to do.  “I'm ready to learn.  This isn't about fighting with these girls to gain the love of a man.  It's about bettering yourself.  I'm not perfect and throughout numerous shows, my behavior at certain times has been inappropriate.  I want to learn how to channel negative energy into positive energy and I want to learn social etiquette, dining etiquette and business etiquette.  I'm just trying to transform into the best person, philanthropist and business mogul that I can be.”

Destiney's strategy is also rather calm and collected, like she won't be having a hard time on Rock of Love: Charm School.  “I just want to be cool with everybody.  I don't want to make enemies or cross anybody.  I learned my lesson from I Love Money, and I'm not here for the drama.  There was plenty of drama on Rock of Love, and I don't have a problem with anybody on this show.  I really want to win and I do want to improve.  I want to be a lady, you know?”  She also says that she's being inspired by her mother and her family.

On another positive note, Rodeo has this to say: “A lady needs to act like a lady on this show, but yes, I'll have fun, too." She later added, "I'll just take care of everybody like I always have and be the mom of the house.”

These girls actually have good intentions for the money, should they win.  If Brandi M. ends up taking home the cash, she plans on donating it to Women Against Domestic Violence.  “There's not enough help for women in Vegas, especially.  A lot of my friends have tried and they haven't gotten help.”

Angelique is also taking up the idea, saying that her choice to be a vegetarian led her to decide that some of her winnings would go to an animal charity.  “I really care about that. I want to talk about it on TV if I can to tell people that you don't need to kill animal in order to survive, especially in 2008.  Also, like, the animal cruelty.   These people take dogs and cats and they do crazy stuff to them.  I'm already a member of the ASPCA.”

Another do-gooder is Inna, who wishes to share part of the winnings to Chernobyl Heart.  “I was two years old when Chernobyl happened and it didn't affect me or my family.  But to this day, kids are being born with deformities that are treatable that'd be $10 or $20 in America to fix.  But because Ukraine's so poor, they can't afford that so their parents end up abandoning them and they die.”

Jessica also remarked that being in Charm School 2 will definitely affect how things are between the girls.  “There's so much drama.  The people I think now I don't want to deal with might turn out to be the opposite of who I end up not wanting to deal with.  I hate to say anything now, when I know it's going to change once we're in the house.”

If we take what these girls say as true, then it seems like there's hope for them yet.  The way they talk, it's like they've set in stone their goal to transform themselves.  Many might dismiss their intentions as something of a publicity stunt, but that doesn't stop the girls from trying their best.

Whether or not you believe in what the contestants have to say, the girls of Rock of Love: Charm School have spoken.  We have yet to see if they indeed carry out these words, once the second episode, “Quit Yer Beaching,” airs on October 19, 9pm on VH1.
