Magdalena is one of the 25 women competing for the love (and possibly the trouser snake) of rock star Bret Michaels on the VH! dating series Rock of Love.  Born in Poland, her accent and deep voice gained her infamy on the show, as fellow contestants and even Bret himself compared her to a drag queen.

Magdalena spoke with BuddyTV and talked about this very issue, so give a listen to the interview and judge for yourself.  In addition, she takes pleasure in talking about the many problems she faced with other girls, particularly Lacey, being phony and just trying to get airtime on the show.  Below you will find the complete transcript of the interview as well as the mp3 audio file.

Hi, this is John from Buddy TV, and we're talking to Magdalena from the VH1 series Rock of Love. How you doing, Magdalena?

Very well, how are you?

I'm doing great. Now, why did you originally want to be on the show?

Actually, it was something that I wanted. I'm a reality show freak, I've watched so many different reality shows, that I just decided I wanted to be part of this. I wanted to see how I could entertain the viewers, I guess, and see how my personality comes out, even though it's definitely different after the people from the show edit everything. It kind of looks different. My view of the show is completely different than what's shown at this time.

Of course. So you don't feel that you were portrayed accurately on the show?

No, and that was probably something I want to talk about. Something that I've heard, I've read a lot of opinions from the viewers, and I understand that my voice definitely does not sound like the way it sounds on TV. It just kind of like, when I first heard myself, I almost passed out. I was like, “Oh my God.”

I don't think it really…it's not my voice, and people started jumping to conclusions that maybe I'm a guy, or used to be a guy or something like that, which is totally untrue. I just wanted to make sure everybody understands that they shouldn't believe the TV, it's just a show. They shouldn't… basically, if they knew me, they would've known that I'm definitely not a man. Never been a man, I don't even sound like that.

I like to think a lot of what people write on the Internet, it's mostly joking. I like to think most people don't actually think that, but it certainly has become a prevalent topic of conversation about this show.

That's very true. Then for some reason, I feel like people are so judgmental. The way, just because they see it on the show for a couple of hours, that doesn't mean that's who we really are. Even though it seems like there's been a lot of people who really put on a good act, which I know for a fact.

I received a message from Lacey and Brandi M. received a message from Lacey saying that she was just acting on the show, that she apologized for everything that she's done or said to us, which I thought was a little fake. I guess, because I definitely was the same person. I was trying to be me, and just act the way I would act without the cameras around me. So basically, she admitted that she was acting bogus, basically.

Yeah. And so were there any other ladies in the house that you didn't like, or any of the ladies that you did like or still have communications with?

Yes, definitely there were some, but it really doesn't bother me as much. But the way they were portrayed on the show, it just kind of made a big deal out of certain arguments that weren't even that big. This is a competition, we're basically fighting over Bret Michaels, we're trying to win his heart. So really, the arguments, some of them were totally irrelevant. Like the animal scandal, all those PETA, that was totally irrelevant to anything.

I think this is just like basically hating on each other, just creating some kind of drama and trying to get some airtime, I think. Because it really doesn't make any sense, I don't think we're there to argue, we're there to win Bret's heart. It seems like some of the girls were doing things they really didn't have to, but they just wanted to make sure they'd get that extra airtime. So that's why, probably, that's exactly how I see it, now that I watch it. I'm like, “Oh, OK, I see how it is.”

So I'm guessing it's not what were you expecting when you went into the show.

I was expecting that people would actually act how they really were on a daily basis, and wouldn't try to basically be somebody else. Just because there's a camera around me, I'm not gonna be all of a sudden try to be a different girl, or try to create a personality, even though I might not have one in real life. So it's just, you know, little things like that I've observed.

I mentioned Lacey, I was always wondering, “Is this girl for real, or is she really just acting?” Once she sent out the little messages, we were like, “So yeah, it was obviously an act.” Well, for her to say that we're uptight, she said that me, about Mia and Jes. We just basically have class, and this is how we are 24/7 in our lives.

I don't just jump into somebody's bedroom, it doesn't matter who it is, if it's a rock star. If he doesn't pick me, he doesn't pick me, but I don't have to try extra hard in order to get a man's attention. If someone's crying, “Please pay attention to me,” I want to be different. That's definitely not the right approach, that's not a lady's behavior.

Are there any positive moments or things that you look back, that you really enjoyed being on this show?

There's definitely so many positive moments, but I feel like the moments that didn't involve the fake titties, and naked parts of the body, and maybe wearing… Basically, they didn't want to show them on the show. So it kind of looked like half of the house was basically all about sex and all about doing things, a little overdoing things.

But definitely, I had so much fun, especially now. Me and my girls, which was Team B, we had the best moments ever. But there were definitely some really great moments that I will always remember, I'll remember them for the rest of my life, definitely.

Now earlier you mentioned that you're a big fan of reality shows. What other reality shows do you enjoy? Have you auditioned and tried to get on other reality shows?

I actually never auditioned for any other reality show. This was the first show that actually popped up. I was in a serious relationship for a long time, and then after my boyfriend broke up with me, I decided that I wanted to do something wild to a certain extent, because when I was with him, he would never let me do anything like this.

So I felt freedom to know that and do something totally crazy, and I wanted to be part of a reality show so what inspired me was I really like reality shows that are on VH1. I Love New York is definitely one of my favorite shows, because it's good for girls, let's just put it that way.

You have a bunch of good-looking guys, and you're just trying to figure out who's your favorite, you have your own little picks. Then you talk to your girlfriends, and they have their own opinions, so it's kind of fun. I think it's just one of the entertaining shows that was definitely one of my favorites, I Love New York.

And now, after the show, what are your plans? Go back to work? What are you going to do now that Rock of Love is done?

I'm definitely back in work, I'm working 24/7. I'm doing the same thing that I've been before, I work for an insurance company. What I'm trying to do basically is make a couple of appearances, see what the show is really gonna bring. There's some great opportunities. If I can get something that I would enjoy, like traveling, making some appearances.

We're trying to do fashion week in New York pretty soon, I'm gonna try to… What's coming up, there is a U.S. Open in New York as well, which I'm getting ready for. Those are like, the little appearances that I definitely want to make, because that's gonnna be so much fun.

I like to meet new people, and I like to travel a lot. But at the same time, I really want to stick with my career, because that's just something I worked for, I went to school for it. So I still have a lot of respect for my work, and I don't want to become someone I wasn't before the show. So I'm still the same person, I still have the same values and morals.
