Gordon Kennedy is a Scottish actor who grew up in Tranent, East Lothian. Kennedy has a long list of television appearances. Among his most prominent roles are as Sgt. Bruce Hornsby on Red Cap, Alistair Pope on Where the Heart Is and more recently, as Little John on Robin Hood. Aside from acting, Kennedy is also a producer and writer. He is credited as a writer on Absolutely and as an executive producer for The Jack Docherty Show.

Little John, played by Gordon Kennedy on Robin Hood, is the traditional big man with the diminutive name. He is the former head of the forest outlaws before Robin’s arrival. He is a cantankerous and ill-tempered big brute who is often at odds with Robin’s analytical manner of confronting things.
