It's all new on tonight's TV casting roundup. New love interests, a new agent, new family members, and maybe a new therapist who might be funny enough to save a show.
Not all titles featured on BuddyTV are available through Amazon Prime.
John Cleese counsels Whitney:
In one of his rare TV appearances, the Monty Python
alum has decided to star in an episode of the struggling NBC comedy. TV Guide
reports that he'll be portraying Dr. Grant, a couples' therapist. He'll be giving Whitney and Alex exercises designed to improve their relationship, from their issues in intimacy to communicating with each other. But we're guessing it'll just end up awkward and fairly unpleasant for all parties involved, which is really what we want to see anyway.
Laurie gets Edwin Hodge as her new beau on Cougar Town:
While no announcement of the season 3 premiere date has been made, they've already cast a boyfriend for Laurie. TV Line
says Jack & Bobby
star Edwin Hodge has booked the recurring role of a U.S. soldier who ends up in a long-distance relationship. We're told to expect a lot of Skype-ing too.
Ringer gets The Sopranos' Matthew Del Negro as a new agent:
According to EW.com
, a cocky new agent is on his way, and his name's Grady Torrance. He's also billed as Machado's nemesis at the bureau, and will be making his first appearance in the March 6 episode.
Gary Cole is Zoe's Pseudo-Dad on Hart of Dixie: TV Line
has confirmed the appearance of the veteran actor on the CW drama, as the man Zoe was raised to believe was her father. His character's the surgeon that she's been trying to live up to, so expect a lot of daddy issues to arise. Keep an eye out for him when the show returns for its second half.
A Clueless reunion on Suburgatory:
Jeremy Sisto's character is getting a new love interest. According to TV Line
, the ABC comedy will have its dose of Alicia Silverstone soon. She'll be playing a character named Eden who gets in between George and his best friend Noah. Hey, think Elton and Cher will end up together this time?
Sopranos star Sigler on Last Man Standing:
Shifting the spotlight to Hector Elizondo's character Ed, TV Guide
reports the appearance of his daughter. Gabriella, portrayed by Jamie-Lynn Sigler, is an accomplished businesswoman like her dad. Problem is: she might even be better than him. She makes suggestions to improve the sporting goods store, they don't go well with Mike (Tim Allen), and daddy Ed's forced to choose. Catch the episode early next year.
Revenge is sweet for Knots Landing's Devane: EW.com
has introduced the Grayson grand patriarch, to be portrayed by soap star William Devane. He's landed the part of Edward Grayson, Conrad's father who's been called in by Victoria to help in her divorce battle. We'll get to meet him in February, as he first appears in episode 14 of the show.
Is 2012 the time to make new friends? Well, yes, on TV anyway. Don't miss all these new characters next year on your small screens!
