Now on Team Charlie, Miles (Billy Burke) sets out to find another fighter for the group and we are treated to the first of hopefully many twists in tonight's episode.

Introducing Nora

As our gang is likely to face off against some highly trained soldier-types during their journey, Miles decides they should have at least one more skilled fighter on their side. Enter Miles' gal pal, Nora (Daniella Alonso). Apparently, she is very good at blowing things up and Miles thinks they will need her if they have any chance of rescuing Danny (Graham Rogers) from the militia. Like Miles, Nora is a pro at fighting and will clearly be an asset for our group, assuming she and Miles don't kill one another first.

I imagine we will learn more about their seemingly complicated history in the weeks to come but for now, it is fun to watch them team up and take out militiamen in order to retrieve their very own sniper-riffle. A riffle Nora plans to hand over to the resistance movement, as she joined the rebels in her time apart from Miles. Oh, and she wants to be the one to take out General Monroe (David Lyons). That is lofty goal but I like Nora's can-do attitude, as well as her ease at putting Miles in his place so I'm definitely rooting for her.

Confession Time

Aaron (Zak Orth) tells Maggie about the flash-drive Ben gave him shortly before his death and that he has orders to take it to Grace, the woman who tried to help Danny in last week's episode and who is clearly at the heart of the rebel group. Aaron and Maggie wonder what it would be like if they could get the power turned back on. Could they go back home and see their families again? It is an excellent question and one the show will no doubt return to throughout the season.

But what if the power does come back on? The world has changed drastically in the last 15 years and those changes are not going to be undone overnight. On the one hand, the rebels would have a much better chance of defeating the militia if they had power. But if the militia were the ones to get said power, it's a good bet the game would be over for the regular citizens. And yet, as we see in a scene where Grace is accosted by someone, there are already some people out there who have access to certain forms of electricity. Who these people are and what they will do with Grace remains to be seen.

The Matheson Women

As last week's pilot established, Charlie (Tracy Spiridakos) has been very sheltered from the dangers of this post-blackout world but in tonight's episode, she has to make her first kills. And while killing is still a new and very upsetting thing for Charlie, it looks like it runs in the family. In a flashback, we see Charlie's mother shoot a man who was trying to steal the family's food. But was that the only reason Rachel (Elizabeth Mitchell) pulled the trigger or did she not want a witness to whatever hubby Ben retrieved from his place of business? Either way, it's clear Rachel will go to extremes to protect her kids.

In related news and as predicted by most viewers, Rachel is alive and well, though she appears to be Monroe's prisoner. Now that Monroe has Danny in custody, will Rachel tell him what he wants to know in order to save Danny's life? Rachel's reappearance also brings up a lot of other questions. Where has she been all this time and why did Ben tell his kids she was dead? How did Monroe capture her and does she have ties to Grace? Leave us all your thoughts and theories on Mama M in the comment section below.
