'Retired at 35'

Coming off the success of its first original sitcom, Hot in Cleveland, TV Land is once again venturing into the world of comedy with Spin City's Chris Case, Rita Rock's Michael Hanel and Mindy Schultheis, who will all serve as executive producers to the new series Retired at 35. Scheduled to premiere on January 19, 2011, the show follows a successful young man in the form of Jonathan McClain, who suddenly decides to trade the cuthroat business world of New York City to a calmer and more peacecful lifestyle by retiring at a very early age. He then moves back into his parents' retirement home in Florida, where viewers are sure to get a hilarious perspective of his much-awaited retreat.
Aside from McClain, who plays lead character David, Retired at 35 also stars George Segal and Jessica Walter as Alan and Elaine Robbins, David's parents. Segal is credited for his role on Just Shoot Me while Walter is popularly known as Lucille Bluth on the critically acclaimed series Arrested Development.
Stand-up comedian Josh McDermitt also joins the cast as David's best friend while Ryan Michelle Bathe plays David's love interest, Jessica Sanders. George Wyner, who is noted for his work in Hill Street Blues, wraps up the cast as Alan's best friend Richard.
Though the premise and and main cast of Retired at 35 seem interesting enough to get viewers hooked, the roster of guest stars lined up for the first season is expected to give the show more boost. Among those slated to appear are Mark Christopher Lawrence (Chuck), Shelley Long (Cheers), Estelle Harris (Seinfeld) and Christine Ebersole (Grey Gardens), just to name a few.
