She was discovered by a talent scout when she was still in college and became a successful runaway and print model. She transgressed into acting with ease, appearing on TV shows such as A Woman of Independent Means.
 
Janet Gavin is portrayed by Andrea Roth on FX’s comedy-drama series Rescue Me. Janet is the estranged wife of Tommy Gavin. She has a very complicated love-hate relationship with Tommy. The couple tried to work out their differences but separated again after the death of their son Connor. Janet also got involved with Tommy's brother, Johnny before he died of gunshot wounds.
