Super Bowl XLVI puts the New York Giants against the New England Patriots, and while many fans are excited about the match-up, I'm proud to admit that I'm one of those people who watches the Super Bowl for the commercials. Oh sure, I'm mildly interested in the actual football game, but that's just because, if the Giants lose, my brother will cry.

This year marks a big change for the always eagerly0anticipated Super Bowl commercials, because almost all of them have already been released online. As a Super Bowl commercial purist, I'm severely disappointed by this new trend and hope it doesn't happen again next year. Watching the commercials is supposed to be a special moment for the Super Bowl, but if people have already seen and analyzed them beforehand, it takes away the magic.

In protest, I have refused to watch any of the ads online. Oh sure, I know that Matthew Broderick will make an appearance as Ferris Bueller, but out of respect for the purity of the sport of watching commercials, I waited for the Super Bowl to see it.

So as Super Bowl XLVI unfolds, I'll be updating this article with my favorite commercials.

NBC's "Brotherhood of Men"

The network put on a big musical tribute to its shows, and it's awesome to see the casts of 30 Rock, The Office, Parks and Recreation, Community, Law and Order: SVU, Up All Night, Parenthood, Whitney, Are You There, Chelsea?, The Tonight Show, The Celebrity Apprentice, Today, Saturday Night Live, Harry's Law, Late Night with Jimmy Fallon and Smash singing this song from the musical How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying.




Audi: Vampire Party

OK, I'm a sucker for vampires, and I have to admit that the idea of a car's headlights being so powerful they they cause vampires to burst into flames is pretty funny.




Pepsi: King's Court

The X Factor champion Melanie Amaro, Sir Elton John AND Flavor Flav, all in one commercial? It's so random it works.




Chevrolet: 2012

Magnolia is my favorite movie of all-time, so I love anything that ends with raining frogs.




The Avengers Trailer

I'm not a huge comic book fan, but even I geeked out seeing Robert Downey, Jr.'s Iron Man meeting Chris Evans' Captain America.




Skechers: Mr. Quiggly

I have a soft spot in my heart for adorable little dogs doing the moonwalk.

If you want to see my childhood on TV, simply watch this commercial with a number of animated characters, from Charlie Brown to He-Man to Fat Albert to Scooby Doo to Marvin the Martian to Voltron.




Bud Light: Rescue Dog

It's a rescue dog that fetches beer. I'm just happy a commercial about rescue dogs DIDN'T involve a sad Sarah McLachlan song.
