One of the most anticipated new fall shows just got a lot more anticipated-er. Originally reported by EW, Torchwood star John Barrowman has landed a recurring role on the new CW superhero drama Arrow. I wonder if it's because he literally has the show's title in his name.

Not all titles featured on BuddyTV are available through Amazon Prime.

Barrowman's character has not been revealed, but he will play a well dressed man who is rich and connected to the Queen family.

The wildly charismatic Barrowman is best known as Captain Jack Harkness, the immortal bisexual time traveler from Doctor Who and his own spin-off, Torchwood. He also played a mobster in several episodes of Desperate Housewives.

Arrow is a darker, grittier version of the comic book hero Green Arrow. The show stars Stephen Amell as the rich Oliver Queen who takes on the alias of the Green Arrow after returning home from several years lost at sea on a mysterious island. Arrow premieres Wednesday, October 10 at 8pm on the CW.
