As Reaper comes to a close, fans have exerted efforts in letting The CW know how loyal the show’s fan base is.  In fact, as soon as there was a hush on whether or not the show was returning for a sophomore season, fans went into frenzy and began showering the network with letter and emails showing their support for the show.  Late last month, the LA Times reported that Reaper was officially on the bubble, and fans went into a "Save Reaper with Socks" campaign, which not only bombarded the network with socks, but also showed how passionate the fans were for the show.

It looks like their efforts paid off, as Reaper was indeed renewed for a second season, TV Guide’s Michael Ausiello reports.  Now that Reaper is officially safe, fans are looking forward to the last few episodes leading up to the season finale.  Meanwhile, Bret Harrison speaks of his experiences on the show and the developments of the different characters as the season comes to a close.

“What they've been doing these last five episodes is what I hope they'd keep continuing.  It's what we always wanted to do.  It's the show we pitched,” Bret Harrison, who plays Sam Oliver, told Entertainment Weekly when asked about what he would like to see in the second season of the freshly-renewed show.  “For a while, it went down this whole path of hammering the premise home because of new viewers. I was like, ‘What about the viewers we always had?’... Finally, the writers got a chance to do what they always wanted: the mythology, the Ken Marino-Michael Ian Black story, Sam being chased by demons and not just souls, and trying to find a way to take down the Devil.”

Moreover, Harrison revealed, “The big question is: Is the Devil Sam's father or not?”

This is the question that the second season would hopefully answer, as fans are already at the edge of their seats, wondering what the real relationship behind Sam and the Devil is.  As for Harrison, he says, “I really have no idea.  I kind of think so.  I'm thinking hybrid.”

Nonetheless, fans would like to know more about that sneaky contract that Sam’s father conveniently tossed into the fire.

“They kind of answer that in the finale episode,” Harrison confirms.  “A lot is coming out in the finale episode.”

As for Harrison’s experiences on the Reaper set, he says that it was a blast.  In fact, before the renewal was made public, he had a hard time saying goodbye.

“It's really hard to say goodbye to the whole cast and crew when it's ‘Bye... maybe?’ It's a weird emotion,” he says.  Now that the show is safe, though, Harrison can go back to his job, which always puts a smile on his face.

“I feel like I have the best job in the world,” he says.  “I'm laughing all day every day.”

Catch Sam Oliver as he tracks down a double-crossing Gladys (guest star Christine Willes), who helps a Hell-escaping soul, Mike (guest star Richard Burgi) on tonight’s episode of Reaper, entitled “The Leak,” airing at 9pm on The CW.
