Last week on
Real World/Road Rules, The Island, we saw how Abe desperately wanted to get voted off because of a phone call that told him his business was in grave danger. Dave on the other hand, whined more about going home because he missed some important people in his life. We guess that his story was more believable than Abe’s, so he was sent home, but he clearly asked the producers to give him a call if they were still interested in casting him for another season.
Recently, Dave blogged about his departure, spilling some thoughts on the challenges, his castmates and his experience on the island.
Entering Real World/Road Rules, one could see that Dave Sky was a competitive contender. Despite not having access to the bare necessities, he admitted that he was up to the challenges ahead, saying that “I am a savage competitor, and take it very seriously. So this show I was going to do completely different. No drinking, no hooking up, and no being naked! Ha, all of this we all know from the Hollywood season I can do very well...The lack of real food, bath products, hot water, and semi shelter were pretty gnarly, but I could handle it.”
In talking about the first episode, he admitted that he placed a gap between him and some of the cast members, which made them think that he was sneaking off and doing some scheming of his own.
"As you can tell I was pretty much non-existent on the first episode. As far as alliances went I started to build one with the rookies while keeping my eyes on the vets," he admitted. "Now I can never know what they we’re really thinking behind my back but I knew the vets knew I was either a threat or someone they would want rowing on there boat. Fast, strong, and lighter then say a Dunbar or Tyree."
As for his future plans now that he isn’t part of the competition anymore, he says that he wants to start “Working on my clothing company, and other businesses, shooting more for the show I was and still am lead hosting, I had met a very nice girl in Bailey Hanks from MTV’s The search for Elle Woods (she went to my college) so we we’re chatting. Nothing as serious as they edited it to make it seem. I mean I was just like this is boring and not what I had expected as far as savage competition.”
As for Dave’s message to his fans? “I apologize to my fans or anyone pulling for the Hollywood rookie. I wish I could have given you a better show. I just felt I could be doing more with myself, and frankly I didn’t need to be on TV as bad as some of those other kids, who only survive by counting on the challenges. So I’m sure I’ll hear “he was weak, or couldn’t cut it”...I know adversity, I know what I could handle.”
