Jeff Goldblum Biography:

Born on October 22, 1952 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, accomplished actor Jeff Goldblum relocated to New York City when he was 17 years old in order to pursue his acting career. He trained under Sanford Meisner at the prestigious Neighborhood Playhouse, and first performed in Broadway for a production of The Two Gentlemen of Verona. He broke through the big screen with a small role in the movie Death Wish. Since then, Goldblum has worked his way into Hollywood’s A-List, with films such as The Fly, The Tall Guy, Invasion of the Body Snatchers, The Big Chill, Independence Day, Jurassic Park, The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou and The Adventures of Buckaroo Banzai Across the Eighth Dimension under his belt. His work on the short film Little Surprises earned him an Academy Award Nomination in 1996, and his performance on The Fly won him a Saturn Award in 1987. Currently, he is making a mark in TV land with his role on the NBC series Raines.

Detective Michael Raines is played by Jeff Goldblum on the show Raines. Michael is an unconventional detective for the LAPD. He has a unique way of solving crime mysteries, and that is to piece together fragments of his imagination in order to come to a conclusive whole. It is an amazing gift, but Michael constantly struggles with incorporating it into his daily life.
