As the HIV-positive college professor Ben Bruckner, Robert Gant became one of the main characters on Showtime's
Queer as Folk. He was introduced in season two as the first customer in the comic book store of Michael Novotny (Hal Sparks) who eventually pursued a relationship with him. Throughout the series, Ben had his fair share of fights with Michael but still endured all obstacles and came through as Michael's long-term partner. Next year, the 39-year-old actor will be putting his acting expertise to the test as he takes on an action-spy movie.
Your Take

Um, yeah? His surname is GANT, not Grant.
In director Ron Oliver's film
Kiss Me Deadly, the former
Queer as Folk actor will be featured as the lead star, along with cast members Fraser Brown, John Rhys-Davies, and Ian Roberts. As former spy Jacob Keane, Gant is drawn back into the world of international espionage when his former partner, whose memory is erased, reappears after 17 years. The movie is currently in post-production stages and is expected for release in 2008.
At present, Robert Gant resides in Los Angeles, and while he gives time to a number of philanthropic and political causes, his purpose is to address the aging in the gay community. He supports organizations like SAGE (Senior Advocacy for GLBT Elders) and GLEH (Gay and Lesbian Elder Housing). He is also developing a website devoted entirely to gay elders and matters that affect them.
In addition to his role on
Queer as Folk, Robert Gant was also noted for his television appearances on
CSI and
Pepper Dennis. On the silver screen, he has worked in the drama movie
Save Me and was cast in the 2007 mockumentary
Live!
