Thea Gill was popularly known as the character Lindsay Peterson on Showtime’s
Queer as Folk. Because of her controversial role, she earned an ACTRA Toronto Award nomination for her performance in 2003. As one of the main characters on the series, she portrayed a lesbian who was the domestic partner of Melanie Marcus. In addition, she was the natural mother of Gus, by way of artificial insemination from long time friend Brian Kinney, and also became the adoptive mother of Jenny Rebecca Novotny-Marcus.
After 83 episodes of
Queer as Folk, Thea Gill lingered on television as a guest star and minor character. She appeared on the drama-mystery
Reunion and on
Masters of Horror as the character Jane Cleaver.
Subsequently, she was cast as Margaret Dalton on the mini-series
Lesser Evil. The drama featured a fashion designer who was raped by a terrorist and her courage to go up against a federal law-enforcement agency in order to send her attacker behind bars. The tele-film also included Alison Eastwood and Marc Singer.
For eight episodes, she portrayed the character Diana Childs on the television series
Dante’s Cove. Like
Queer as Folk,
Dante’s Cove also featured gay-oriented themes but in a mystery-horror tone.
At present, she is busy filming the movie
Seed, a horror flick written and directed by Uwe Boll. It tells the story of an insane mass murderer named Sam Seed and his quest for vengeance. After being executed at the hands of Warden Wright, he survives the electrocution but is buried alive. Enraged and soaked in blood, he clawed his way to the surface and is now seeking extreme revenge. The film stars Will Sanderson as Max Seed, Ralf Moeller as Warden Wright, and Michael Pare as Detective Bishop.
