Gale Harold

Date Of Birth

July 10, 1969

Biography

American actor Gale Harold was born on July 10, 1969 in Decatur, Georgia. He has kept publicity away from his upbringing, aside from offhand comments that growing up for him was a “bizarre Pentecostal” experience. He cites David Bowie, J.R.R. Tolkien’s Gandalf, and Jack London as being influential during his younger days. He graduated from the Lovett School and attended American University in Washington on a soccer scholarship, but eventually left due to a conflict with his coach. He then worked a variety of odd jobs before pursuing a career in acting. Gale Harold has appeared in The Unseen, Life on the Ledge, Wake, Deadwood , Vanished , and Law & Order: Special Victims Unit .

Brian Kinney is portrayed by Gale Harold in the comedy-drama Queer As Folk. A sexually promiscuous man who often hangs out at the gay club Babylon, Gale fears growing old and being a bad father to his son Gus. He becomes involved with Justin and takes his virginity, even though he hates the idea of couples. Gale is also a relatively successful advertising executive, though he’s also a narcissist who’s incapable of commitment and true love. He’s also considered by the gay community as controversial and representative of negative stereotypes.
