Lee Pace was born in Chickasaw, Oklahoma. He spent several years in Saudi Arabia as a young child because his father was in the oil business. Later on they moved to Houston where he temporarily left school to act at Houston's Alley Theatre before returning to conclude his studies. In 1997, Pace was accepted to the Juillard School's drama division, with which he participated in plays like Romeo and Juliet (as Romeo), Richard II, and Julius Caesar as Casius. Upon graduation, he starred in several off-Broadway plays including The Credaux Canvas and The Fourth Sister. He was proud of his film role Calpernia Addams in Soldier's Girl, playing a transgendered woman dating an Army soldier. He said that it was a challenging role, but was happy that he got chance to change people's perspective about other people. His television appearances include those of Wonderfalls, Law & Order: SVU and Pushing Daisies.

Ned is played by Lee Pace in the television series Pushing Daisies. Ned is mild-mannered man who is gifted with the power to bring dead things or people back to life. With help from a local investigator, he uses this gift to help crack murder cases by bringing the victims temporarily back from the dead. Things get complicated, however, when he brings Chuck, his childhood sweetheart, back to life. She then convinces him to use his powers to help others and not just solve crimes. To add another twist, Ned can't touch Chuck again or else she would die--for good.
