There’s still no word on whether ABC will soon, or ever, air the final three episodes of
Pushing Daisies—the latest to get the axe in the history of shows (
Arrested Development and
Veronica Mars come to mind) that are fan darlings, critic favorites, but ratings underdogs.
But here’s a small consolation for fans of the
Pushing Daisies pie-maker and his pals: the show’s creator, Bryan Fuller, is heading back to
Heroes. And he’s bringing
Daisies star
Swoosie Kurtz with him!
Entertainment Weekly’s
Ausiello Files got the scoop that Kurtz’s spokesperson has confirmed that she has officially landed a deal to guest star on
Heroes in April.
Fuller, whose work will begin to re-steer the (what some might calling
sinking)
Heroes ship around episode 20 of this season, is responsible for Swoosie’s pick, and the role itself:
“Bryan wrote the part specifically for her,” Kurtz’s spokesperson tells Ausiello. “It’s a really fun role.”
Right now, Kurtz is set for one episode only, but with her connection to Fuller, recognition for
Daisies, and experience guesting on hit shows like
Lost and
ER—not to mention Heroes’ need for more “fun” characters—there is a definite possibility for a recurring role.
Heroes returns for its fourth volume, “Fugitives” on February 2.
