The 16th episode of season 2 entitled “Shawn (and Gus) of the Dead” follows Shawn as he investigates the disappearance of a 3,000-year-old mummy. The mummy was stolen the day after its exhibit opened at the National History Museum. Things get a little eerie when all angles indicate that the relic wasn't stolen as it got up and walked out on its own.
Lassiter thinks the case is open and shut, and not worth his time but the museum curator tells him otherwise, explaining that there were several factors with the security system and video tape with unexplained details. The curator believes that the theft has a supernatural feeling and wants Shawn called in. When Shawn and Gus get to the museum, Gus won't go in the mummy room because he's too superstitious.
Another complication arises when he night watchman, who has three counts of felony burglary on his record, is suddenly missing.
For those who are not familiar,
Psych follows the adventures of Shawn, who posses uncanny powers of observation honed by his police officer father, Henry, who honed his detective skills when he was a kid. After being accused of committing a crime he actually solved for the police department, he convinces the cops that he's psychic. With the reluctant help of his best friend Gus, Shawn starts solving cases for the skeptical yet impressed police force.
