After nearly a four-month break (excluding the holiday special),
Psych is returning with the second half of its sophomore season tonight at 10/9c on the USA Network. The wait seems worth it, as the network says the boys will be handling a unique missing person case from an unexpected client.

In tonight's episode, “There's Something About Mira,” Shawn (
James Roday) is shocked when he finds out that his best friend Gus (
Dule Hill) actually has a wife. Gus met the woman (guest star Kerry Washington), whose name is Mira (hence the title), at a foreign beach resort but was too embarrassed to tell anyone about them. Mira contacts Gus 10 years after their marriage was annulled, and it becomes clear that she has a strange hold over him.
Gus asks Shawn's help to make sure he doesn't succumb to her charms again, while Mira asks the guys to help her look for her missing fiancée, Jan. Later, Shawn and Gus take on an unusual murder case when someone is found dead on the set of a telenovela.
Meanwhile, Detectives Lassiter (
Timothy Omundson) and O'Hara (
Maggie Lawson) experience some professional competition when the former discovers O'Hara bested his scores on the detective exam. They try to outdo each other while investigating a stolen refrigerated truck, a case that ties in with Shawn and Gus' own investigation.
Also in the episode, Shawn's father Henry (
Corbin Bernsen) gives love another chance and goes on a date. The woman he dates is played by Bernsen's real-life wife, Amanda Pays.
Coinciding with
Psych's midseason premiere is the debut of
The Big Adventures of Little Shawn and Gus, a series of animated shorts that explores the classic mysteries of childhood through the experiences of young Shawn and Gus. The six shorts were created by J.J. Sedelmaier Productions, and run from 50 seconds to two minutes. The network will show a new adventure during the second break of each Psych episode beginning tonight, but all of the shorts will also be made available online.
