Cybill Shepherd annnnd, Justine Bateman!?! I mean, the cast was great already, but WOW!!!
Can't wait for ...
Before Bateman, Steven Weber of
Brothers and Sisters was reported to be joining the cast, as the brother of Henry Spencer, Shawn's father and a former detective himself, played by
Corbin Bernsen. Before Weber,
Cybill Shepherd of
The L Word had come aboard Psych to play Spender's mom Madeleine, who returns to Santa Barbara after years of psychology practice abroad. Other names that are floating as potential guests include Rachael Leigh Cook, Ted Lange, Jeff Fahey, Gary Cole, and Christopher McDonald.
By no means a stranger to the small screen, Bateman spent seven years on the set of
Family Ties with Michael J. Fox from 1982 to 1987. She played the role of superficial Mallory Keaton, who was portrayed as a clueless airhead whom Alex (Fox) constantly made fun of. After a few movies, she made a brief comeback in the NBC sitcom
Men Behaving Badly in 1996. This was followed by yet another string of television shows, such as Showtime's
Out of Order, Fox's
Arrested Development, and CBS'
Still Standing.
