After the first episode aired of
Project Runway season 4, I was convinced that
Rami Kashou was going to win the season. However, it only took a few more episodes before I jumped on the
Christian Siriano bandwagon.
Jillian Lewis, who is without a doubt a talented designer, has had to fight to take a little of the spotlight off of these two men. Tim Gunn has said that this will be the “stiffest competition we've ever had” but is there a clear cut winner here?
** WARNING! MAY CONTAIN SPOILERS! **
Bravo has done a very good job at keeping all spoilers from hitting the internet. That’s good for most
Project Runway fans but the rest of us, who are curious, have nothing better to do than find context clues in interviews. Last week, the final four sat down with Regis and Kelly. When Kelly asked, “Are you happy with the winner”, Christian jumped right in and said, “Happy with the winner? Of course!” and then got very quiet. Did he say too much? Is Christian our winner?
At New York Fashion Week, season three finalist Laura Bennett gave her support to Siriano saying, “I really think Christian should be slapped sometimes, but I'm saying that from my perspective as a mother. But I also think he's an incredible designer." On the
Project Runway reunion show, Christian won fan favorite by a landslide but didn’t win over his fellow designers by that big a margin. Only Kevin and Victorya felt that he had what it took to win the whole thing while most people got behind Rami.
Don’t look for any clues from mentor Tim Gunn. He remains tightlipped about it, telling the Associated Press at Fashion Week, "I've never ever felt in our four seasons of Project Runway that anyone of these people could win, and I do today, absolutely. I haven't a clue how to call it." Fortunately, we'll only have to agonize about it for another 24 hours. The second half of
Project Runway's finale airs tomorrow night at 10pm ET on Bravo.
Do you think Christian won Project Runway?
