I could not have been happier with the results of the
Project Runway finale this week.
Christian Siriano, my favorite designer since very early on in the season, won and is on his way to a very big career. This finale was one of my favorite reality episodes of all time. Not only did my favorite contestant win but I got to see myself on national television. Here’s how I went from TV writer to runway attendee to cameo on Bravo.

Now that I've conquered Project Runway, my next goal is Survivor. I LOVE that show! All I want in life is...
When I finally made it inside the tent where the runway show was taking place, it was hot. I don’t mean hot as in cool, I mean hot as in it was about a hundred degrees in there. I’m not one for crowds and this place was packed to capacity. I had a reserved seat with a gift bag placed on it for me. The bag was filled with the latest issue of Elle magazine, a giant Hershey bar, and TreSemme products. I decided to take my bag and stand for the show, feeling that it was a little cooler and spacious down on the floor. If you stood at the end of the runway and looked to the right, I would have been standing right against the stairs, where the railing was.
As I watched back the finale, I was hoping that I would see myself. They kept panning close to where I was standing then would cut to a new shot. I had given up all hope that I would see myself on Bravo. Then, as Nick Verreos was being interviewed … and as it was the very last crowd shot … suddenly … out of the top right corner, a girl with a white blouse, black skirt, and Lisa Loeb style glasses came walking by. “ME! ME!!! MEEEE!!” I screamed at the TV. My sister, who was watching with me, had no idea what I was screaming about. I couldn’t find words. All I could do was stand up and point frantically at the screen. We rewound, watched again, and when she realized it was me, a massive amount of text messages were sent to everyone we knew.
I have gotten to do some cool things in my life but I have never experienced something as cool as seeing myself on one of my favorite reality shows. Being at New York Fashion Week was something that I had never necessarily put on my list of things to do but that’s because I never realized how amazing it would be. Watching the finale back was so surreal, seeing the things on TV that I had seen myself just a few weeks earlier. It may have been brief and it may have been a little hard to make out but for two seconds, I had a cameo on a hit Bravo show!
