With Project Runway’s
season 5 finale only one day away, the big debate among fans is, of course, who should win? In the final three we have Kenley Collins, the rebel, Korto Momolu, with her laid back style, and Leanne Marshall
, the quiet force to be reckoned with. We’ve already taken a look at why Kenley should win and why Korto should win. Unfortunately, it’s not looking good for Kenley, who has let her mouth get the best of her this season. In fact, 61% of BuddyTV readers feel that her personality should be a determining factor in whether or not she wins. There doesn’t seem to be a whole lot of excitement around Korto, though 70% of the readers feel that her entire body of work should be considered in the final panel. Today, we take a look at Leanne, the designer that everyone is calling this season’s frontrunner.
Leanne has landed in the bottom more than her fellow contestants in the final three but in two of those challenges, she was working in pairs. When the designers are forced to work with someone else, it can be tough to judge what they are truly capable of. Two of Leanne’s low scores came early in the season before she hit her stride, winning 2 challenges in a row (Fashion That Drives You and Double 0 Fashion) and placing in the top group for the zodiac challenge. She headed into Fashion Week placing in the higher group for the two challenges leading up to it, Rock N’ Runway and the bridesmaid challenge.
Here is a photo of one of Leanne’s designs from Fashion Week:
At Fashion Week, almost everyone was talking about her collection after the runway show. Former designers were telling reporters that this season was hers to lose and that her collection was virtually flawless. I personally wished she used more in her color scheme than blue and cream but what do I know about fashion anyway? If previous designers liked what she did, then I'm going to take their word for it. After all, these are the people who lived it and have been through this process. With everyone saying that Leanne is going to win, I would find it surprising if the judges go another way tomorrow night.
