Don't think just because we've been spending time meeting the new season of
Project Runway we've forgotten about the designers we learned to love through the first three seasons. Far from it! We've still got our eye on what designers from previous seasons are up to.
So here's a round up of some recent appearances and sighting of
Project Runway designers from previous seasons, including the answer to the question, “Where's Andrae?”
Season 3 designer Kayne Gillespie continues to find success in the beauty pageant world. He is now designing shoes designed for women competing in pageants. They're also appropriate for prom and other evening occasions. The line is called Jonathan Kayne and will be sold first in Kentucky for between $70 and $175.
Another Southern boy from season 3 has also been out and about lately. Mychael Knight made an appearance at a Homecoming Fashion Show at Howard University, and will also be participating in the Lisa “Left Eye” Lopes Foundation Second Annual Celebrity Gift-wrap event at a Georgia shopping mall.
Malan Breton just had a show of his ready-to-wear in Dallas at their Fashion Week. The proceeds from the show went to benefit DIFFA: Design Industries Foundation Fighting AIDS.
Nick Verreos has been keeping plenty busy, with appearances at a “Vintage Roadshow,” L.A. Fashion Week and the 2007 L.A. Fashion Awards, which were held at the Orpheum Theater on October 26. Nick also keeps an updated blog and recently chimed in with the answer to that “Where's Andrae?” query.
Nick wrote, “Here's a great photo of Andrae and I with Galina Sobolev, the designer of Single, a wonderful contemporary line based out of Los Angeles. JLo, as well as other beauties have worn her fabulous silky printed tops and dresses…We were at the Los Angeles Fashion Week Single Fashion Show, sponsored by 944 Magazine. Oh, and did I tell you Andrae is designing for them? So the next time you ask "Where's Andrae?", he's at Single with Galina!!!!!!”
We'll continue to check in with previous
Project Runway contestants as we also learn more about the new designers for season 4.
