Project Runway: Episode 5.3 Predictions
Last week on Project Runway 5, Stella Zotis bounced back from her trash bag disaster to win praise from the judges, while Korto Momolu slipped from being the top to the bottom batch of designers.

With so many unknowns with the new bunch of designers on Project Runway 5, it’s really anybody’s game at this point, but this week, let’s take a look at what the preview videos for this week’s episodes may or may not be telling us.

Leanne Marshall’s shiny brown creation didn’t impress the judges this week, and she’s shown in the previews worrying that she might be “too creative” again for the judges. Reality show contestants who complain that the judges just don’t get their singular and unique vision don’t usually win, but they can, as in the case of Santino Rice, still go far. Leanne’s also featured in the preview calling out her model for not supporting her on the runway last week. Based on my intensive Bravo reality show watching and tea-leaf reading of parsing their pre-show previews, I’m thinking she’s possibly on track to either win the challenge or be in the bottom two but not be sent home based on the slant of her edit in that preview. No matter what, she appears to be a major player in the episode.

Keith Bryce hasn’t really gotten a lot of screen time so far, but he looks like he will be ramping that up in this episode. However, based on the two outfits he’s sent out on the runway so far, I am not sure that he is on track to produce something that would wow the judges into a win. Nevertheless, like Leanne, it seems like we will have the chance to get to know more about this designer.

And Stella. (Of course every time I write her name I have to shout it in my head like Elaine from Seinfeld doing Stanley Kowalski while on muscle relaxers.) I must admit Joanna Ramone is kind of growing on me. She’s featured in the previews annoying her fellow designers as she hammers in a design element (grommets?) that reflects her rock-and-roll design aesthetic. She is dead set on sticking with that aesthetic, and that kind of limitation can be a problem with the judges, but if she can, in fact, be creative within her own style, she can possibly stick around for a while.

We’ll see what the judges have to say about these three and all the other designers on Wednesday’s episode of Project Runway 5.
