Despite airing about six episodes for this season so far, Project Runway already managed to raise a few well-trimmed eyebrows for Fashion Week. Right in the middle of the seventh installment, they drop this bomb on us, but maybe it really isn't as bad as we think.
Before we go any further though, be warned. The rest are spoilers for the Project Runway season 7 finale.
Last Friday marked the runway show for Fashion week, and
Entertainment Weekly reports that there were 10 designers who presented their collections. We know that they usually get around four or five for this - the final three and two decoys. However, it looks like they went a bit too far this time.
We're wondering if Lifetime is trying to inundate its audience with all the clothes that were presented for
Project Runway. Ten collections from ten designers is a bit too much. Really, what were they thinking?
For one thing, it certainly gave seven hopefuls an opportunity to showcase their talents at Bryant Park. They may not have made it to the final three, but they were right in the middle of the action.
Even so, doesn't this weaken the experience of actually making it as a finalist for this season? The moment really isn't as special if you have to share the catwalk with so many other talents.
Speaking of which, we know there are eleven designers left competing on the recent episode "A Little Bit of Fashion." We would think that the network would allow all of them to show their collections at Fashion Week to avoid
spoilers, but there was obviously one missing. The show didn't include a line from Maya.
If Season 2's Santino Rice were to be asked, he'd voice out our thoughts in his Tim Gunn impersonation. "What happened to Maya?"
While the internet is teeming with photos of Fashion Week, this girl has been missing out. It's peculiar since she's already impressed the judges so far, meaning there are many possibilities regarding her absence at the show.
We'll find out if she gets eliminated tonight, even though that's a stretch. Still, you never know on
Project Runway. One design blunder could already mean you're Auf'd and away from Bryant Park.
